Words of Wisdom

…just because we fail doesn’t mean we are failures.  It’s okay to miss the bed on the first jump, and the second, and the third.  It’s okay to try another route.  It is not okay to lose sight of the top of the bed and surrender our goal.

Achievement is one of the most important elements of the human experience.  Along with acts of love and compassion, it is one of the fundamentals that give our lives meaning.  A life devoid of achievement is a life wasted.  It is as simple and brutal as that.

What is fascinating about dogs is they innately seem to get this.  I’ve never known a dog that lived life as though it was just a rehearsal.  Dogs focus on what they want and go for it.  We people often live our lives like we are going to do it all over again, and the next time around we’ll take all the chances.
