OK, with 3 large dogs–all of whom have long hair, I have to vacuum a lot! It’s not bad on flat surfaces, but going up the stairs is a hassle! The vacuum is heavy and awkward and I just don’t like doing it–besides, I don’t feel like I am really getting the hair up even after all of my trouble. On my carpeted stairs, I have tried different solutions. The glove that removes hair, the Pledge Hair Remover, etc. Well, today I made a discovery that I think is worth sharing! Out of desperation, I used the girls’ Furminator!!! It has a nice handle, it gets the hair that has worked its way down into the nap, it gets the hair that gets right in where the carpet meets the wall, and I can sit down while I use it! If you are having problems with hair on a staircase, you might give it a try. Furminators aren’t cheap, so unless you are already using it on your dogs, I don’t think you will want to go out and buy one. But, on the other hand, if you already have one, you might try it on your areas of carpet that are difficult to vacuum. It worked for me!
P.S. I have cut pile carpet….be careful if you have carpet that has a loop.
